Bows and Ribbons Photography is made up of two individuals, Timothy and Yuyeth Fernandez. We are a husband and wife team who both discovered our shared passion for photography many years ago when we first met. A short while after we got married, we started taking photographs together—first of our holidays, then of friends and family, and eventually, newborn babies. Our unique style came about as a result of our differences, each of us bringing a bit of our own style, interests and abilities into the mix.
Yuyeth is the resident baby whisperer at Bows and Ribbons Photography, and takes pride in posing and styling our “little bosses” and their mummies. With a background in corporate sales and advertising, she also takes charge of marketing and administrative matters—working with parents to prepare for their sessions, attending to emails, and sharing photos of adorable little cherubs on social media.
Developing her passion for photographing little ones after taking care of her baby sister at the age of 12, Yuyeth has always had a natural affinity for newborns and babies. She has attended various workshops and training sessions (online and off) to further hone her skills in handling newborns safely, helping them to transition comfortably from one pose to the next. She is also an arts and crafts aficionado, lover of sugary desserts as well as a fan of romantic comedies and giant robots.
As a technology journalist and communications professional in his previous life, Timothy is the resident “technical guy” at Bows and Ribbons Photography, making sure we always have the right tools for the job. He also takes the lead at maternity and baby milestone sessions, as well as making sure all our mummies and daddies look perfect with just the right amount of touching up in post.
Picking up his first camera at age 10, he has ruined many rolls of perfectly good 35mm film, and accidentally discovered a passion for the art. Since then, he has thankfully gotten better, and has had stints in studio photography, event coverage and commercial photography. In his (very limited) free time, Tim enjoys a good non-fiction book, and TV shows with needlessly convoluted plots. He is also a neat-freak and drinks one too many cups of coffee daily.
